    The investigation on negative ion source with Penning geometry electrodes were carried out at the test desk available.

    Summer 2002. Dc H- ion beam of 5 mA was obtained and investigated on the model of negative ion source with Penning geometry electrodes. The value measured for the normalized emittance 0.3 p mm mrad meets the requirements.

    Tandem negative hydrogen ion source

    A new concept for a dc 50 mA negative ion source was proposed.

    Technical project of dc 50 mA tandem negative hydrogen ion source was proposed.

    Autumn 2002. Plasma driver was made. Plasma driver is a magnetic multipolar trap for low-temperature plasma.
